Well,
Summer is fast approaching (my favorite season), and I am so excited.
Even though if feels like summer was way better in high school, I still love it.
Summer days in high school consisted of-
sleeping in.
going to the beach all day.
hanging out until the wee hours of the morning with your friends, doing random shenanigans.
repeat.
that was great. like really great.
but alas, this is real life. Most of us have jobs now. Some married, some have children..high school days are long gone.
This list, right here... :
-go to the beach a lot
-ride bikes
-play catch at the park (like baseball, duh)
-go to more baseball games
-BLOG MORE
-drink slurpees
-have a picnic!
-make iced tea more often
-have at least one bonfire
...is a list of things I want to do more of this summer......but probably never will. (that's life)
Yet, I will still manage to at least make an effort. (there's probably so many more things to add to the list as well, but just cant think of it all)
Aside from the list,
We're going to Colorado again in July with the youth group for summer camp, and that is going to be a blast.
ALSO, in August we will be celebrating our 3 year wedding anniversary...in MAUI!!!!!
oh man am I excited for that. I've never been to Hawaii, and have always wanted to go. May sound lame, but it seems like a dream come true for me. CAN'T WAIT for that trip!
A lot of people hate summer, because of the heat, and blah blah. Yeah, it tends to get a bit hot at times, and it can get pretty miserable, buuuut summer is still my favorite season. [ followed by fall ;) ]
call me crazy.
welp, until next time,
-D

busy as a bee
time. has. been. flying.
I can't believe Christmas Eve is tomorrow!! I'm glad I got all my Christmas shopping done.....last night.
Normally I'm so on top of all my shopping! It just snuck up on me this year.
Since the last time we chatted, welp nothing much has been happening.
The biggest thing goin' on is my job. I'm now managing a store, which I can't officially call 'my own' yet. I'm there on a Time Limited Assignment. Still technically considered an assistant manager, but am acting manager at the store. This is basically a trial run, as I like to call it. I could potentially take it over though, which is what I'm hoping happens. So far, its going great! It's a ton of work, but I truly love my job. The past couple weeks have been crazy stressful, and I could rant on and on about it, but I won't bore you with that ;)
I'm so blessed that Frankie has the same job. Having the same job as my husband is, honestly really great. When I need to vent, or just straight up talk about work, he completely knows what I'm talking about, and feels me. And vise versa as well, we completely understand what each other is going through. I, love it. Neither of us can come home and say "you have no idea what I went through all day"...actually, yeah. Yeah I do. Again, it's great.
So anyways, with both of us being so busy and crazy with work, we're tired. Like all the time. Most days we work, come home eat and sleep. haha. (but really). That's all we do. Of course with occasional plans with friends and/or family, which then just makes us even more busy. But, we're lovin' life.
Speaking of being tired, I don't know why I'm not in bed right now. Gotta open up shop tomorrow!
Well everyone, have a very Happy Christmas, and a super safe Merry New Year.
Till next time,
-D

i get by with a little help from my friends.
I have, the best friends, ever. (I know, everyone says that, right?) I love each and every one of them dearly.
I've mentioned before my closest girlfriends, who I talk to every single day. Well all of our husbands are friends too (I know, its just perfect). We all got together last night (minus Jessica and Jake [who just had their beautiful baby boy 3 weeks ago today!]. They were enjoying a day at Disneyland together ;P) Plus 3 other of our couple friends! We all got together for a game night, with some coffee and dessert, of course. It was so much fun, and seriously long overdue for all of us to get together. We all have the best time when we hang out, and are constantly laughing.
We had a ton of board games out, yet we didn't play any of those. We played Mafia, and Psychiatrist. If you haven't heard of either of those, you need to get a group of people, and play. Mafia can get intense, and thinking about it so can Psychiatrist, it's so much fun!!
Around 11 or so everyone started dwindling out and heading home. The couples that were left were myself and Frankie, Kayla and Nathaniel, and Marissa and Cory (we were at their house). For awhile we ended up separating, girls and guys (which is pretty standard and usually always ends up happening) and had some girl time/guy time. That is always the best. I love girl talk.. Around midnight or so, we decided we wanted In-n-Out. So, us girls went out and picked it up for all of us. When we got back all 6 of us sat around and told stories and laughed for the next hour and a half. These times are always the best, it doesn't happen all too often, so when it does, I cherish it.
We finally left around 2am or so, and I got into bed at 3, only to have to wake up to my alarm for work at 5am. It was all so worth it.
I feel like a grandma because I am usually in bed between 9 and 10. I'm always tired, because I always have work.
I haven't stayed out that late in, I want to say years. I haven't hung out with friends until the wee hours of the morning in so long!! I loved every minute of it, and I miss those times!
Again, my friends are so dear to me, especially my girls. I would pretty much do anything for them, they're always there for me. Whether I need to talk about something, just need to vent, or if I just need help picking a nail polish color. Its so nice for all us couples to get together like we did last night, and I wish we would do it more often!
At least Fakesgiving is coming up!!

2 years.
that's how long I've been married to this stud
That means 5 years together!
It's crazy to think we've been together 5 years already, and 2 years married! In the other hand, I feel like we've been married forever! Marriage has definitely been a learning experience for the two of us. We learn from each other, and also are still learning about each other. It has also been the most amazing blessing in life.
This past Wednesday was our anniversary, and Frankie took me to San Diego! (I love love love San Diego, and he knows that :) )
He surprised me, and planned everything but didn't tell me until the night before. He took me to Hotel Del!! On Coronado Island :)
Hands down the coolest, most beautiful hotel we have ever stayed in. We absolutely loved it. It was RIGHT on the beach (I also love love love the beach).
We got down there on Tuesday night, explored the hotel, and went out to dinner. Later that night we enjoyed some cable in our room, since we don't have any at home :)
We walked to breakfast the next morning (our actual anniversary).
To this cute little french creperie place. I love the ceiling!
and ate this:
We walked along the streets for a while and ventured into some shops. Eventually got some lunch, and went to the beach.
This beach has the softest sand we have literally every felt. It took us back to when we were on Coronado beach exactly 3 years ago, the day he proposed to me :)
After a while, we relocated to the hotel pool. Just a minute walk away ;)
After the pool we relaxed in our room, and watched some TV for a bit. We didn't start getting ready for dinner until about 6:30. It was nice to be able to take our time.
For dinner we went to this ADORABLE restaurant that was located in a Victorian house. It was so romantic inside, and just perfect. The food was AMAZING.
The rest of the night was super low key, and relaxing. As well as the rest of the trip. The next day we just went to breakfast, check out of the hotel, yet stayed and hung out by the pool for a few hours ;)
The trip was amazing. I'm so blessed to have a husband who plans things like this every once in a while ;) It was so relaxing, and chill and laid back, and just, perfect.
I've loved all the adventures the 2 of us have been on the past 5 years together, especially these past 2 years of marriage. I can't wait to see what God has in store for us the next 65.
