half birthday celebration.

The other day, September 23rd, it was my half birthday. I know, it sounds lame, my "half birthday". Who the heck notices their half birthday? Well, the only reason I recognized my "half birthday", was because about two years ago, when I told my friend when my birthday was (March 23rd), she says, "Hey thats my half birthday!" Then telling me, that our birthdays, are each others half birthday. So, September 23rd rolls around, and I'm wishing her a happy birthday, when I realize, hey, I'm exactly 18 and a half today, its my half birthday. So I text my boyfriend, jokingly, "hey todays my half birthday hahaha ;)"
I had work that day, and he came to visit me on my lunch. We are walking to his car and he pops his trunk, I ask why, and go to open it when he says "DON"T, open that". So, I laugh, just thinking he's a weirdo, and just go sit in the car, not having any idea what he's up to. He closes the trunk, comes to the side of the car, and tells me to close my eyes. So I do, he gets in, and finally tells me to open my eyes. When I do, he's holding a big cupcake, with one lit candle. So. Cute.
He's smiling, and laughing, and starts singing, "Haaapppyyy half biirrrrthdayyyy tooo youuuuu..." haha, ridiculous. Totally "celebrating" my half birthday. Who does that? haha. Anyways, I thought it was totally and completely adorable. I have the cutest boyfriend. You may be thinking, that it's not that cute, and that it's ridiculous. But think about it, would you not like for your boyfriend/girlfriend, or anybody for that matter, to buy you a cupcake on your half birthday??

Blythiepants.

Yesterday was a good friend of mines birthday.

Blythe Hill!

She had a nice little backyard get together. It was adorable. Everything was set up so cute.

Make your own grilled cheese station! Brilliant!
(sorry for blurriness)
For Blythe's birthday her boyfriend Jordan got her a nice new record player. Only for Blythe to want records for her birthday, so that's what me and Frankie got for her :)
Bon Iver and Radiohead. Needless to say she was a little excited and loved them both. :)

She also loved this little number she got from some friends.

The party was fantastic. Everything was set up so nicely, and so cute. Drinks were great, food was such a great idea! Desert was delicoius. I had a great time. You did a great job Blythe. And also, to her close friend Shannon for helping out.

Happy Birthday Blythe!
I hope you had a wonderful birthday, and a great time at your party.

cool as a cucumber.

A couple of phrases, that never really made sense to me:

Clean as a whistle-Whistles are not really that clean. You blow your spit into it, how can that be sanitary?

Sick as a dog- Are ALL dogs always sick?

Cute as a button-Why and how are buttons cute?

Clear as day-What if, its a cloudy, rainy day? that's not very clear.

Easy as pie, or something similiar, Piece of cake- It doesn't cross my mind as pie being "easy", or when describing how simple something was, it being a "piece of cake". Although, I am guilty for using that phrase before.

Poor as dirt. or "dirt poor"- Since when did dirt have the ability to be poor??

I don't know, these are just a few of misleading phrases that catch my attention when I hear them.

Any other phrases like these that don't make sense to you?
